Dr. G. Byron Rutledge, Jr. ,D.D.S, 68, of Bloomington, passed away Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009.

Born
Aug. 17, 1941 in Terre Haute, he was the son of Guy Byron and Lois Zoe (Schickel) Rutledge.

He practiced dentistry for 43 years. He was a graduate of
Indiana State University and the Indiana University School of Dentistry. He was U.S. Air Force veteran.

Survivors include wife, Linda E. (Speedy) Rutledge, whom he married on April 24, 1998; daughter, Kimberly Rutledge of Bloomington; son, Barry Rutledge of Sydney, Australia; five step-sons, Eric McGaha of Lubbock, Texas, Andrew McGaha of Indianapolis, Benjamin McGaha of Bloomington, Joseph McGaha of Bloomington, Jonathan McGaha of Virginia Beach, Va.; brothers, Mark Rutledge of Indianapolis, Brad Rutledge of Greenville, SC; and 14 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be
1 p.m. Monday at Day Funeral Home Chapel in Bloomington with the Rev. Stan Killebrew officiating. Burial will follow in Clear Creek Cemetery.

Visitation will be
2-8 p.m. the Sunday at the funeral home.
