Dennis Lee Strickland, Sr., 62, of Mackey, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011 of natural causes. 

He was born Oct. 15, 1948 in Princeton to Earl and Ethel (Ahlemann) Strickland.

He lived his entire life in Mackey. He was a member of Mackey Church of the Nazarene and was a 2nd LT in the Army National Guard. He was employed as a Field Product Specialist with AGCO Corp. He was in the agricultural business for 40 years including, owner of Strickland Equipment Co. and territory manager for DMI Inc. and Sunflower Mfg.  His hobbies included collecting toy tractors, farm hats and antique tractors. In his leisure time, he enjoyed playing Rook, camping, playing golf with his boys and most importantly spending time with family.

Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Beverly (Green) Strickland of Mackey; three children, Christa (Todd) Jacobs of Newburgh, Amy (Jeff) Busing of Fort Branch, Dennis, Jr (Stacey) Strickland of Mackey; six grandchildren, Hannah Kay Jenkins, Roy Benjamin Jenkins, Jordan Iven Jacobs, Grant Dennis Strickland, Grace LeeAnn Strickland; Gavin Edward Strickland; and eight brothers and sisters, Ruth (Ron) Ringham, Don (Marlyn) Strickland, Norma (Hilbert) Miller, Joyce Parke, Marilyn Ireland, Bob Strickland, Bonnie (Phil) Lundeen, and Connie (Mike) Barr.

 He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Angela Denise Strickland; three brothers, Lloyd, Norman and Larry Strickland; and a sister, Vonda Miles.

 Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011 at Mackey Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Chip Bullock will officiating. Burial will be in Townsley Cemetery in Mackey. Somerville American Legion will provide military rites at the cemetery.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 2-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14, 2011 and from noon until service hour on Saturday at Mackey Church of the Nazarene.  Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City is handling arrangements.
