Darel Attis Tapley, 90, of Princeton, passed away Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, at the River Oaks Health Campus of Princeton.

Born Dec. 30, 1920 in Decker Chapel, he was the son of Ed and Retta (Conklin) Tapley.

He was the branch manager for ARA, formerly Clean Towel Service, for 23 years and retired from F & M Lumber Co. 

On May 17, 1942, he was married to Marjorie (Monk) Tapley in Evansville. He was a member of The Oasis Assembly of God in Princeton.

Survivors include sons, Norman (Rita) Tapley of Peach Tree City, Ga., David (Kathy) Tapley of Evansville; daughters, Janice ( Jim) Mason of Patoka, Marilyn (Rick) Sudsberry of Avon, Cathy (Jeff) Barton of Princeton; sister, Thelma Jean (John) Smith of West Terre Haute; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by parents; wife, Marjorie in November 2010; brother, Howard; and sister, Dorothy. 

Funeral services will be at  11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011 at Doyle Funeral Home, at 520 S. Main St., in Princeton, with Pastor Gary Arnold officiating.  Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Princeton

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011 at the funeral home.
