Martha P. Scott, 84, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at home.

She resided in Princeton since 1972, coming from Keensburg, Ill.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God in Princeton

Martha loved everyone she met and they in return loved her.  Her family was the center of her life.  She enjoyed art, painting, church, family and many friends.  She wrote, “I am learning from coping with cancer. Optimism will give you quality of life-not to exclude sadness, anger, sorrow, grief and hurt, but you can decide to go on in the face of it all, with hope and trust in the Lord.  I’m filling my time with family and friends, keeping up with my art as long as possible, although it is becoming harder.  I have many praying daily and with God, all things are possible.”

Martha is survived by her loving husband, Thurman Scott; five children, Gary (Earlene) Tice of O’Fallon, Ill., Larry (Audrey) Tice of Mt. Carmel, Ill., Jerry Tice of Allendale, Ill., Tom (Sue) Tice of Owensville, Tammy Williams of Owensville; two step-sons, Mike (Rose) Scott of Ferdinand, Ind., Mark Scott of Patoka; 21 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
