Monty L. Garrett, 50, passed away Friday, April 22, 2011 at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton. 

He was born Oct. 3, 1960 in Oakland City and lived most of his life in Princeton and Owensville. 

Monty was a contractor for USA Today, the Evansville Courier and a member of the Princeton Bowling Association.

Survivors include his wife, Marcie Garrett of Princeton; parents, Randy and Sharon Garrett of Princeton; four children, Jessika, Jason, Tisheena and Kyle; seven grandchildren, Jazmine, Gavin, Alyssa, Garrett, Cash, Ayden and Dallas; and two brothers, Mark Wilkerson of Owensville and Denny Dike of Mt. Vernon, Ind.

 He was preceded in death by his mother, Rita Ann Dike.

 Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with the Rev. Ken Nelson officiating. Burial will be at Maumee Cemetery in Johnson, Ind.

Visitation will be 4–8 p.m. Tuesday at Colvin Funeral Home.
