Clifton Ray Morton, 76, of Winslow, passed away Monday April 4, 2011 at home.

Born Sept. 16,1934 in Pike County, he was the son of Donald and Minnie (Wininger) Morton.

He was a U.S. Army veteran during the Korean War and retired after 26 years from Old Ben Coal Co. He was a member of U.M.W.A Local 5179.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Helen (Russell) Morton; daughters, Teresa Riech of Princeton, Suzi (Bryan) Robinson of Indianapolis, Angie Owens of Winslow;  sons, Roger Morton of Lake Worth, Fla., Larry (Becky) Morton of Winslow, Randy Morton of Oakland City, Tim Morton of Nashville, Tenn.; brothers, Gene Morton of Beattyville, Ky., Dennis Morton of Winslow; sister, Anna Lee Ennis of Winslow; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Harold and Wendel Morton; and sister, Donna Mae Morton. 

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. (eastern) Thursday at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel in Oakland City with the Rev. Tom Deen officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until the service hour on Thursday at the chapel.
