Evelyn Louise Fritz Schwomeyer, 91, of Oakland City, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Amber Manor in Petersburg.

Born Oct. 4, 1919 in Hartwell, she was the daughter of Harmon and Marie Fritz-Cochren.

She worked in Evansville and St. Louis for Chrysler and retired in 1974.  She was a member of Greater Grace Apostolic Church in Oakland City. 

Survivors include a son, Pat (Emily) Schwomeyer of Oakland City, sister, Barbara Jo (Robert) Doerner of The Villages, Fla.; grandchildren, Ryan Schwomeyer of St. Louis, Patrick (Jennifer) Schwomeyer of Montreal, Quebec (Canada), Paxton and Lucy Schwomeyer of Oakland  City;   sister-in-law, Helen Norrick; brother-in-law, Loren Schaffer;  nieces and nephew, Robin Boyd, Nick Doerner, Cinda Abbott-Knight.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, James Cochren; sister, Ruth Schaffer; and brother, Robert Norrick.

Funeral services will be at noon Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel in Oakland city with the Rev. Jason Clark officiating. Burial will be in Augusta Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service hour on Wednesday at the chapel.
