Joyce L. Murnahan,  89, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2011 at River Oaks Health Campus.

Born Feb. 23, 1922 in Vanderburgh County, she was the daughter of Carl F. Pruitt and Helen I. (Davis) Anderson.

Joyce was a secretary having worked W.B. Johnson Insurance and was the first fiscal secretary for the Owensville - Montgomery Township Fire District. She was a member of the Owensville United Methodist Church, American Legion, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Eagles and Order of Eastern Star No. 66 in Sarasota, Fla.

She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and was an avid reader.

Surviving are two daughters, Jana (Richard) Warren and Jennie (Mike) Sluder both Owensville; granddaughters, Joey Johnson and Jana Lee Darrough; great-grandchildren, Casey and Chase Calhoun, Mia and Ava Darrough, Gracie Johnson; four step-grandchildren; and nine step-great grandchildren; step-children, Gary Bolin, Cindy Helfrick; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Irene Pruitt; her husbands, Gerald Jones, Donald Bolin and Ralph Murnahan.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holders Funeral Home in Owensville with Bart Newton and Rev. Linda Lawler officiating. Burial will be in the Mauck Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
