Claude F. Walls, 78, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2011 at home in Evansville

He was born Jan. 17, 1933 and was raised in Gibson County.

He graduated with the class of 1952 at Fort Branch High School.  He later lived in Iowa for several years and spent the last seven years in Evansville.  He was a veteran of the U. S. Army.  Claude retired after 43 years of service with the U. S. government.

 Claude is survived by his five children, Deb (Chris) Banfield and Darlene Welch both of Greenwood, Sue Ellen Wancowicz of Parkville, Md., David (Misty) Walls of Evansville,  Donald (Anita) Walls of West Des Moines, Iowa; nine grandchildren, Melissa Skirvin, Kendra Dunkerson, Andy Eberle, Sarah Eberle, Jacob Welch, Jimmy Wancowicz, Rob Walls, Nick Walls and Kevin Walls; 15 great grandchildren; and one  great-great grandchild.

 He was preceded in death by his mother, Elsie Seebode; wife, Emma Jean Walls; great granddaughter, Paige Booker;  and son-in-law, Bob Welch.

 Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton.  Burial will be at Providence Cemetery in rural Francisco.  VFW Post 1147 will provide military rites at the cemetery. 

Visitation will from noon until 2 p.m. Wednesday at Colvin Funeral Home.
