Norma June Miller, 74 of Chambersburg, Pa., passed away Sunday June 26, 2011 at Menno Haven Retirement Community in Chambersburg.

Born March 19, 1937, in Gibson County, she was the daughter of Earl and Ethel (Ahlemann) Strickland.

Norma graduated from Mackey High School in 1954 and from Evansville College in 1958. She was a registered nurse and retired missionary who spent 35 years in Swaziland, the Republic of South Africa and Malawi.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Hilbert Miller; son, Daniel (Sheri) Miller of France; daughters, Debbie Miller of Lincoln, Neb.,  Diana (John) Reinert if Chambersburg, Pa.; daughter by grace, Mary Dlamini of Manzini, Swaziland; grandchildren,  Hannah Miller of Kankakee, Ill., Ben and Lorena Reinert of Chambersburg, Pa;  sisters, Ruth (Ronald) Ringham of Lynnville, Joyce Parke of Raytown, Mo., Marilyn Ireland, Bonnie  (Phillip) Lundeen and Connie (Michael) Barr of Oakland City; brothers;  Donald (Marlyn) Strickland of Oakland City, Robert (Ruth) Strickland of Somerville ; brother-in-law, Glen Miles of Mooresville; sisters-in-law,  Shirley Strickland, Linda Liles and Beverly Strickland all of Mackey.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister; Vonda (Strickland) Miles; and brothers, Larry, Norman, Lloyd and Dennis Strickland.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Mackey Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Bill L.Reed and the Rev.Chip Bulloch officiating. Burial will be in  Townsley Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Mackey Church of the Nazarene and from 9 a.m. until the service hour Saturday at the church.
