Eline N. Schmitt, 88, of Oakland City, formerly of Evansville, passed away Friday, June 17, 2011, at home.

She was born April 19, 1923, in Evansville.

Eline was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Mackey. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and drawing.

Eline is survived by her husband of 72 years, Leroy Schmitt of Oakland City; daughters, Doris Price of Stendal, Alice Burkhart (Steve) of Francisco; son, Paul Schmitt (Barbara Sue) of Oakland City; eight grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 20, 2011, at Alexander West Chapel, with the Rev. Matt Malin officiating. Entombment will be in Alexander Memorial Park. 

Friends may visit Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
