Juanita “Fern” (Conklin) McClellan, 90, went home to be with the Lord and her family on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Gibson General Hospital’s skilled care facility.

 She was born July 21, 1920 in Gibson County, the daughter of Alvy W. and Kate (Tooley) Conklin.

 Fern and her husband farmed for many years, and was a founding member of South Gibson Apostolic Church.

 Survivors include her three grandchildren, Debbie Short, Kerry Davis and Darren McClellan; six great-grandchildren, Kyle and Lindsey Short, Nathanael and Matthew Davis, Hannah Hastie and Allison McClellan; three sisters, Jean Conklin, Joy Peach and Betty Woods; brother, Don Conklin; and several nieces and nephews.

 She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 69 years, Alfred in 2006; her son, Edwin L. in 1974; daughter, Patricia Davis in 2003; and a brother, AlvyJunior” Conklin.

 Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at South Gibson Apostolic Church with Pastors Kerry Davis and Joey Sizemore officiating. Burial will be in the Maumee Cemetery.

 Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Monday at Holders Funeral Home in Owensville.
