Joey DeWeese, 26, of Glezen passed away  Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011.

He was born Aug. 3, 1985 in Princeton.

He graduated from Pike Central High School.  He worked as a miner for a while.  He loved to play softball, hunt and go to the dirt track races.

He is survived by his mother, Terry (Charles Cary) Burns of Dunlap, Tenn.; four brothers, Jason (Katie) DeWeese of Union, Patrick (Danielle) DeWeese of Glezen, Brian (Kristie) Burns of North Carolina, Derek Burns of South Carolina; a sister, Tara Burns of North Carolina; his grandmothers, Nina Mason of Elberfeld and Marie Burns of Francisco ; several aunts and uncles; four nieces; and a nephew.

He was preceded in death by his father, Otis DeWeese Jr.; and his grandfathers.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. (central) Monday, Aug. 15, 2011 at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, with the Rev. Jerry Blackwell officiating.  Burial will be at the Martin Cemetery in Pike County

Visitation was 4-8 p.m. (central) on Sunday at the funeral home.
