Loren Hubert Reed, 77 of Goodyear, Ariz., formerly of Princeton and Hazleton, passed away Aug. 30, 2011 in Goodyear, Ariz., surrounded by his wife and children whom he loved very much. He was buried in Goodyear, Ariz.

He was a devout Christian. Loren started his life long working career as a teenager out of high school at Servel Manufacturing in Evansville and had several jobs as a mechanic. Before moving to Arizona, he worked as tech at Arvin Manufacturing in Columbus, Ind. He had a fleet of semis for a short while and completed his employment career in 2010 at Wackenhut Security in Arizona.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Lillian Hayes Reed; children, Jeffery Reed, Michael (Linda) Reed of St. Louis, Mo., Elaine (Gerald) Newnum of Princeton. Patricia Brown of Princeton, Lena (Fernando) Redondo of Goodyear, Ariz., Donald Reed of Goodyear, Ariz., Robert (Sarah) Reed of Princeton; brother, Herbert (Dorothy) Reed of Columbus, Ind.; sisters, Nora Wilkerson of Dale, Shirley (Jim) Fincher of Princeton,Rachel (Kenneth) Hurst of Hazleton; 26 grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Grace Reed; brother, Franklin Bertram Reed; daughter, Theresa Gray; and grandson, Pete Alvarez.

The memorial service for the family at noon Saturday at Lafayette Park Shelter House No. 1. The public is invited at 2 p.m. Saturday and everyone is welcomed to attend who knew Loren and be with the family.
