Richard D. Reinhart, 93, of Princeton, passed away Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011 at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton

He was born on Dec. 3, 1917 in Princeton to Daniel and Catherine (Whitman) Reinhart.

He was the Gibson County Highway Dept. superintendent for many years. He was also a W.W. II veteran serving in both the European and Asiatic- Pacific Theater as a heavy machine gunner with the 332nd Field Artillery Battalion of the U.S. Army. 

On Feb. 2, 1949 he was married to Jacqueline Bell who preceded him on July 20, 1983.

He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church as well as the VFW Post 1147 and a 50 year member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles 361 of Princeton. He loved to golf and sought perfection in anything he set his mind to do.

Survivors include daughters, Vicki (Glenn) Decker of Princeton, Kim (Ken) Hickman of Heath, Texas; grandchildren, Julie (George) Vittori, Stephanie (Matt) Dewus, Kristin, Katherine and Kurt Hickman,  Sarah ( Charles ) Day and Jonathan (Andrea) Decker; great-grandchildren, Austin Dewus, Jack Vittori, Brady Decker and Evan Day. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two brothers; and one sister.

Cremation has taken place and internment of ashes will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Princeton with Rev. Father Ron Zgunda officiating and VFW Post 1147 providing military honors.
