Michael "Mike" Lee Gharst, 53, of Princeton, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Evansville, Ind.

He was born April 16, 1958 in Phoenix, Ariz. to Murl and Patricia (Gray) Gharst, who preceded him in death.

In September 1997, in Henderson, Ky., he was married to Susan Bogan.

He was the manager at Scott Saw Mill in Patoka and was a member of Oasis Assembly of God Church in Princeton.

Survivors include his wife, Susan of Princeton; stepsons David (Kendra) Horken of Evansville and Tyler Alka of Princeton; daughters, Melissa Gharst of Carterville, Ill., Sidney Gharst of Princeton, and Samantha Gharst of Princeton; brothers, William (Kristin) Gharst of Watson, Ill., Martin Gharst of Jacksonville, Ill.; sister-in-law, Priscilla Newman of Springfield, Ill.; grandchildren Kurt Horken, Callie Alka and Brady Bagwell.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gary.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, 2011 at Oasis Assembly of God Church at 1104 S. Stout St. in Princeton, with Pastors Mike Marsh and Dave Gray officiating.

Internment will take place at Maple Hill Cemetery in Princeton.

Visitation will be Monday Sept. 19, 2011 from 1 p.m. until time of service at 3 p.m. at the church.
