Elisabeth “Bett” Mason, 98 of Princeton,  passed away Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011 at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton.

She was born Sara Elisabeth Woodburn on Oct. 22, 1912 in Evansville to Harry and Dora Woodburn. 

She moved to Gibson County at the age of 3, living near Princeton ever since.  She married Marshall Mason on Oct. 31, 1935, in Mt. Carmel, Ill.  She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her son, James (Donna) Mason of Princeton; grandchildren, Jenifer Heidi (Russ) Gruelle of O’Fallon, Mo., Kent Dejarnett of Monroe, NC, Shawn Dejarnett of Alpharetta, Ga.; several great grandchildren, including Rachel and Joe Gruelle of O’Fallon, Mo.; several nieces and nephews, including Jim (Becky) Woodburn and Marsha (Art) Richardson both of Princeton; sister-in-law, Maxine Mason of Princeton; and many great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marshall Mason; daughter, Molley Jane; brother, James Woodburn; sisters, Dorothy Jane Frick and Nelle Geesken; and two nephews, Charles Dennis Woodburn and Dale Mason.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011 at Decker Cemetery near Patoka, with the Rev. Brian Cook officiating; burial will follow.  There will be no public visitation. Colvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
