Luther Franklin “Frank” Wade, 80, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011 at Deaconess Hospice in Evansville

He was born May 12, 1931 in Guymon, Okla. He grew up in the Oakland City area and was a 1949 graduate of Oakland City High School.  He served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War.  He was former mayor of the city of Princeton from 1984-1988 and was a Princeton city councilman. He moved to Haubstadt in May 2007 after living in Princeton for many years and also formerly lived in Mt. Carmel, Ill.

He retired from Siemens – Potter & Brumfield in Princeton and was an ordained minister; last serving as pastor of the Columbia General Baptist Church in Princeton.  He had been attending Christian Fellowship Church in Evansville and First Baptist Church in Princeton.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda (McLean) Wade; daughters, Debbie (Tom) Gabe of Evansville, Darlene Runyon of Owensboro, Ky., Virginia (Mark) Schuh of Haubstadt,  Kathy (Rick) Hickrod of Princeton, Crystal (Bill) Schafer of Allendale, Ill., Cindy Brothers of Owensville; 11 grandchildren, Justin (Errin) Carr, Patty (Jed) Siemon, Brian (Christine) Melvin, Chris Melvin, Amber (Devin) Joaquin, Sarah (Matt) Deputy, Aaron (Alea) Gabe, Rebekah (Matt) Holden, Danielle Runyon (Jessica), John Runyon, Adam Brothers; 15 great grandchildren; a brother, Bob (Beulah) Stucy of Scottsdale, Ariz.; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Wanda L. (Jines) Wade on Sept. 13, 1966; his parents, L. Frank Wade, Sr. and Helen A. (Thompson) Sells; sister, Barbara Ruth Wade; brother, Fred Stucy; sisters, Anna Mae McDevitt and Helen Reed.

 Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 16, 2011 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Pastor George Prinzing officiating.  Burial will be at Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton.  VFW Post 1147 will provide full military rites at the cemetery. 

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Colvin Funeral Home.
