Fort Branch, Ind.

Ind. woman dead from car-train crash.

A coroner says a Southwestern Indiana motorist killed at a Gibson County railroad crossing might not have realized a train was approaching.

Gibson County Coroner Barrett Doyle said 75-year-old Evelyn Bullock of Fort Branch died at the scene of the collision with a CSX freight train Saturday morning.

Doyle told the Princeton Daily Clairon for a report Sunday that Bullock probably did not realize a train was approaching because another train was stopped on another set of tracks at the crossing.

The crossing has only a stop sign and no lights, bells or crossing arms.

The crossing is near the victim’s home in Ft. Branch, about 20 miles north of Evansville.
