Lena Pauline Creasey, 88, Oakland City, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, at Gibson General Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit.

 

She was born in Crittenden County, Ky., on Nov. 14, 1922, daughter of Charlie and Vera Lowery.

 

She was married on May 29, 1937, to J.W. Creasey.

 

She was a beloved pastor's wife and worked beside her husband, Rev. J.W. Creasey, in several Indiana and Kentucky churches, as well as on the mission field in Talaqueh, Okla., for almost 10 years.

 

She enjoyed sewing and cooking for her family and was known as an excellent cook, and for the quilts she made for family. She was a sweet, gentle, woman who served as an example for others, both in the church and in the home.

 

Pauline is survived by her beloved husband, J.W., of 74 years; children Earl (Phyllis) Creasey of Russellville, Tenn., Joyce (George) Campbell of Dayton, Ohio, Vada (John) Ferry of Oakland City and daughter-in-law Patsy Creasey of Oakland City; 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, two step-great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by her father, mother and brother, E.L. Lowery; a son, Howard Creasey; two grandchildren, Troy and Errol Creasey; and one great granddaughter.

 

Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, at Lamb Basham Memorial Chapel in Oakland City.

 

Visitation is from 4-7 p.m. Monday.  Burial will be in the Beech Grove, Ky., cemetery on Tuesday.
