John R. Dyer, 74, of Somerville, passed away Sunday Oct. 9, 2011 at Deaconess Hospice Center in Evansville.

He was born Oct. 18, 1936 in Oakland City to Clarence and Dora (Black) Dyer.

He retired from Whirlpool Corp. in Evansville, IN after 39 1/2 years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Mary (Lecocq) Dyer of Somerville; sons, Rick Alan (Robin) Dyer of Oakland City, Timothy Wayne (Kathy) Dyer of Huntingburg, Mark Anthony (Becky) Dyer of St. Francisville, Ill.; stepsons, Bill (Hallee) Hutchinson, Rick (Vickie) Hutchinson and Barry Hutchinson of Somerville; grandchildren; great grandchildren; sister, Julia Eubanks of Terre Haute; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011 11:00A.M.  Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel with the Rev. David Brandon officiating. Burial will follow in Somerville Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. until the service hour on Wednesday at the chapel.
