Bernita Marie (Weaver) Pritchett, 66, of Evansville, passed away Monday, Oct. 17, 2011 at St. Mary's Medical Center after a 9 1/2 year battle with liver cancer.

 

Bernita was born Oct. 12, 1945 in Evansville to the late Paul and Marie (Heerdink) Weaver.

 

Bernita graduated from Haubstadt High School in 1963 and went on to work at EVSC for 29 years and spent 20 of those years at Evans Middle School. She was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She loved sports, especially high school basketball, but her greatest joy was her children and grandchildren and caring for her home.

 

Bernita is survived by her husband of 47 years, Steve Pritchett of Evansville; daughter and best friend, Paula (Alvey) Albin of Evansville; son, Jeff (Amy) Pritchett of Evansville; sister, Mary Sue (Richard) Weber of Haubstadt; brother, Paul (Martha) Weaver of Princeton; grandchildren, Jacob, Lukas, and Noah Albin, Emma and Steven Pritchett; and several nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Rosalia Weaver.

 

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:15 a.m. Thursday,  Oct. 20, 2011 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave. Evansville, IN. 47711 and continued at 11 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 211 N. Vine St. in Haubstadt, IN 47639 with Father Tony Ernst and Deacon Charlie Koressel as the celebrants.  Burial will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery.

 

Friends may visit from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011 at Browning Funeral Home with a Rosary service at 7 p.m. and visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
