Irene I. Siekman, 93 of Buckskin, passed away Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Oakland City.

 

She was born Nov. 30, 1917 in Warrick County to Elmer and Tina (Steel) Besing

 

She was a member of the St. Johns Church of Buckskin. She was a homemaker and cooked at the Buckskin school for several years. She loved to work in the garden, can and cook.

 

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gary (Gwen) Siekman of Buckskin; daughter and son-in-law, Shirley (Paul) Barnett of Buckskin; daughter-in-law, Mary Siekman of Mackey; six grandchildren, Tracy (Dwayne) Brazelton, Greg (Amy) Siekman, Kevin Barnett, Stacey Siekman-Hall, Kristie Batey, Jeff (Lori) Siekman; seven great grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Greer of Evansville.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ivan “Wendell” Siekman in 1989; son, Terry Siekman in 2000; two brothers; and a sister.

 

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011 at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, with the Rev. Bill Reed officiating. Burial will be at St. Johns Cemetery in Buckskin. 

 

Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City.
