Harold "Moke" Gourley, 66, of Mt. Carmel, Ill., passed away Monday, Nov. 21, 2011 at St. Mary's Medical Center, Evansville.

 

He was born July 13, 1945 in Princeton, the son of Thomas P. and Gertrude (Parker) Gourley.

 

Moke was a member of VFW and American Legion. He worked as a coal miner and served in the United States Army. He loved fishing and spending time on the river banks. Moke loved his family dearly and had lots of good times spent with his family and friends.

 

He is survived by his daughter, Tina Gourley of Mt. Carmel; sisters, Sue (Jim) Hargrave of Keensburg, Ill., Sherry White of Fort Branch and Linda (Jim) Bogard of Mt. Carmel; brother, Bill (Nancy) Gourley of Mt. Carmel; two grandchildren, Lyndsey Moore and Natosha Bickel; two great-grandchildren, Josey Banks and Gracie Banks and several nieces and nephews.

 

Preceding him in death were his parents, Thomas and Gertrude Gourley and Jack Gourley.

 

Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011 at Short Funeral Home, Mt. Carmel.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011 at the chapel of Short Funeral Home with burial at Highland Memorial Cemetery, Mt. Carmel.
