William H. Holder, 63, Oakland City, died at 10:48 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 24, at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton.

 

He was born Jan. 22, 1948, in Vanderburgh County, son of Haskell and Sophie (Butcher) Holder.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gerald Holder.

 

He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of Oakland City American Legion Post 256 and Princeton VFW Post 1147, the National Rifle Association, and retired from employment with Branchville Correctional Center.

 

Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Arletta (Evans) Holder; a son, Keith Holder of Oakland City; daughter, Tammy (Ricky) Keel of Woodsville, Ala.; five grandchildren, two great grandchildren; a brother, Darvin Holder of Elnora; sisters Darlene Doerner of Somerville and Jan Gregory of Evansville.

 

Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Monday at Montgomery Cemetery.

 

Visitation was Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel in Oakland City.
