Loretta Christie, 81, of Eldorado, Ill., and formerly of Norris City, Ill., passed away Thursday, Dec. 22, 2011 at 12:45 a.m. at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.

She was born March 3, 1930 in Bowling Green, Ky., the daughter of Robert and Nettie Welborn.

She married Doyle E. Christie Sept. 9, 1950, and he preceded her in death June 6, 1999.

Surviving are three daughters, Jane Pollard and Evelyn Ann Benters both of Mt. Sterling, Ky., and Linda Penell of Princeton; three sons, Larry Christie of Chattanooga, Tenn., Bob Christie of Mt. Carmel, Ill., and Jerry Christie of Norris City; and several grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services and burial were Monday at 11 a.m. at Saulmon Cemetery near Poseyville. Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City was in charge of arrangements.
