Robert A. Redman, 79, formerly of Owensville, passed away Friday, Dec. 9, 2011 at Gibson General Hospital Skilled Care facility.

 

He was born Jan. 28, 1932 in Gibson County, the son of Arthur Howe and Dorothy Matilda (Garrett) Redman.

 

Bob was a graduate of Owensville High School class of 1950 and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked several years for U.S. Steel before retiring from Emge Packing Company. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion Mt. Carmel, Ill.

 

Survivors include his wife, Carol Jane (Ingram) Redman; daughters, Roberta (Randy) Ross of Owensville, Sue (Ron) Roller of Logansport and Betty (Mike) Henshaw of Evansville; four grandchildren, Tracy Roller, Ryan and Brandon Ross, Michael Low; sister, Lois Jean Barnett.

 

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Frances (Stinson) Redman; son, Ricky Redman and daughter, Vicky Redman.

 

Services will be Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 11 a.m. at Holders Funeral Home with Bart Newton officiating. Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery with military graveside services conducted by American Legion Post 51 and VFW post 1147.

 

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
