She was a nursing assistant at Princeton Hospital 1947 to 1949. She also did some private-duty sitting with the ill in their homes over the years, but primarily she was a proud homemaker and mother her entire life.

She also had her own freelance photography business before losing her sight. She was a proud, long-time volunteer leader with the Girl Scouts.

She was affiliated with both Muren Church of God and Tower Heights Church of God in Princeton. She and her husband were very active in the Oakland City Church of God before it closed. She was a church leader, sang in choir and special songs, youth and Bible school leader. She loved teaching from the Bible.
