Karen Denise (Kozar) Wentzel, 47, of Oakland City, entered rest Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, at 10:42 a.m. at Deaconess Hospice Center in Evansville.

 

Karen was born June 18, 1964, in Indianapolis.

 

She spent several years while living in Oakland City, working as a nurse at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. She moved to Scottsdale, Ariz., in 2001, and worked at Mayo Clinic Hospital. She obtained her master's degree in nursing education and worked as a nursing coordinator for kidney transplant services at Mayo Cinic.

 

Surviving are her parents, Don and Georgetta (Cox) Kozar; sons, Ryan Andrew Virden of New York, N.Y., Jacob Dyler Wentzel of Glendale, Ariz.; daughter, Kiana Rene Wentzel of Glendale; sisters, Dr. Donna Kozar of Evansville, Dr. Sheri Montgomery of Newburgh and Paula Carlisle of Oakland City.

 

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Darin Nossett officiating. Burial will be in Montgomery Cemetery.

 

Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 a.m. until service hour Wednesday.
