William W. Harmon, 86, of Evansville, entered rest Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012 at River Pointe Campus in Evansville.

 

He was born Dec. 30, 1925, in Gibson County to Thelman and Violet (Williams) Harmon.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Bob, Fred and Tom Harmon.

 

He retired from A&H Truck Line after 21 years of service and was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, and a member of Oakland City American Legion Post 256.

 

Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Helen Harmon; daughters; Vicki (Rick) Holtsclaw of Oakland City, Donna (David) Meier of Evansville; sons David (Vicky) Loveless of Winslow, Terry Harmon of Jefferson City Mo., Butch (Marty) Weist of Winslow, Farley (Debbie) Smith of Evansville 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren; a sister, Phyllis (Tod) Bailey of Princeton; brothers Roy (Jo) Harmon of Greenwood, Sam (Frieda) Harmon of Loogootee, Jerry Harmon of Odon; and sisters-in-law Olive Harmon of English and Mary Lou Harmon of Greencastle.

 

Services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 6, 2012 at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel in Oakland City, with burial in Montgomery Cemetery, Dr. Douglas Low officiating.

 

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. until services at the chapel.
