Ralph Nolan McDonald 88, formerly of Oakland City, In. passed away on Saturday January 7, 2012 in West Lafayette, IN., where he lived for the last 4 years.

 

He was born on October 13, 1923 in Pike County, IN to Ralph Nolan and Helen (Corn) McDonald, both deceased. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Wilma Robling

He graduated from
Oakland City High School in 1943 and was a WWII Army Veteran. He was a Coal Miner and last worked at Ashire Mine, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Oakland City, UMWA Local#1907, Oakland City Mason Lodge #467 and the Scottish Rite of Evansville. 

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Alice Lorene (Miller) McDonald formerly of Oakland City, IN; son & daughter-in-law, Michael A. & Connie McDonald of Thorntown, IN; daughter & son-in-law, Susan J. & James Walters of Lafayette, IN; 4 grandchildren, Brent McDonald, Erin (McDonald) Stanfield, Todd Walters and Trent Walters; 9 great grandchildren, Ellie McDonald, Blake McDonald, Evan Stanfield, Mark Stanfield, Hayden Walters, Alia Walters, Hudson Walters, Katelyn Walters and Madalyn Walters; and a sister, Jerry Gooden of White Buff, TN. 

Funeral Services will be held at 3 PM on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, officiated by Rev. Douglas Low. Burial will be at the
Montgomery Cemetery in Oakland City.

 

Visitation will be from 1 PM until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
