Harry "Ernie" Midkiff, 65, passed away Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012 at the Deaconess Hospice Center in Evansville.


He was born on
September 12, 1946 in Knox County, the son of Harry and Verna (Gilpin) Midkiff.


Ernie was a graduate of
Owensville High School class of 1966, and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Ernie was a welder by trade and worked for Country Mark for 35 years. He was a member of the Prince Lodge 231, Scottish Rite, Hadi Shrine, Moose Lodge 354, Lifetime member of the Princeton VFW 1147 and the Princeton American Legion Post 25.


Survivors include his wife, Bettye Midkiff of Owensville; daughters, Samantha Ann Midkiff and Lisa Fredrick; sons, Alex and Mark Roca; grandchildren, Kyle and Kaden Fredrick, Katey, Alexandria Roca and Megan Davids; brother, David Midkiff.


He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 infant sisters.


Services will be Tuesday, Jan. 31 at
10:00 a.m. at Holders Funeral Home in Owensville with Bob Douglas officiating. Burial will be in the Owensville Cemetery with full military graveside services conducted by the American Legion Post 51 and the VFW Post 1147.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with a Masonic Rites at 7 p.m.
