Marilyn D. Dye, 83, passed away Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012 at her home in Oakland City.

She was born in Chicago, April 23, 1928 to Richard and Mildred (Russell) Hamby.

She had been a homemaker and a receptionist for her husband, Dr. William E. Dye, who practiced medicine in Oakland City for many years.

She graduated from high school in Chicago attended Oakland City College where she met and later married her husband in 1947. She came back to live Oakland City in 1957. She was a member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, member of the women's medical auxiliary and a hospital volunteer. She was an avid golfer.

She is survived by her three sons, Madison B. (Cathy) Dye of Boise, Idaho; William Andrew (Kabria) Dye of Scio, Ohio; Benjiman (Cynthia) Dye of Oakland City, nine grandchildren, Blain, Heather, Justin, Daniel, Matthew, Shanalay, Andrea, Katrina, and Tiffany, several great-grandchildren, brother, Richard Hamby of Washington; two brothers-in-law, Jack (Marci) Dye of Sarasota, Fla., and Kenneth Nelson of Columbus, Ohio.

Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City with Dr. Douglas Low officiating. Burial will follow in the Montgomery Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the Corn-Colvin Funeral Home.
