Walter L. (Bud) Wilkens Jr., 61, of Fort Branch, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2012 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.

 

He was born in Fairfield, Ill., Sept. 20, 1950, son of Walter L. Wilkens Sr. (now deceased) and Ruby (Milner) Wilkens, who survives.

 

Bud was a dispatcher for Wayne Wilkens Trucking in Vincennes. He served in the U.S. Army reserves for six years. Bud was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and was a member of the ABATE Club of Indiana. He was a member of Olney First Baptist Church in Olney, Ill.

 

Besides his mother, Bud is survived by a brother and three sisters, Wanda Shultz of Jasper, Winona Drewes of Springfield, Ill., Wanita (Chuck) Pagel of Springville, and Wayne (Cindy) Wilkens of Vincennes. He is also survived by eight nephews, two nieces, and eight great nephews and nieces.

 

Services for Bud will be on at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012 at Stodghill Funeral Home, Ind. 168 West in Fort Branch. Burial will be in White Church Cemetery in Princeton.

 

Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 10, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Military services will be conducted at the graveside by the Fort Branch V.F.W. Post 2714 and American Legion Post 194 Saturday morning.
