Charles Owen Booker, 86, of Aurora, passed away Friday, March 23, 2012 in Lawrenceburg.

 

He was born Tuesday, Oct. 13, 1925 in Princeton, son of Samuel Rosa Ellen Debord Booker, now deceased.

 

He served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy and was also a dental assistant in the Navy.  Charles worked as a salesman for Sears & Roebuck Company, retiring after 17 years, where he was awarded Top Salesman for multiple years.  He was a member of Community United Methodist Church.  Charles had the pleasure of working with his granddaughter, Machelle at Weber Sports in Aurora.

 

Surviving are a son, Mark Anthony (Nelda)  Booker of Princeton; daughter, Sharon (Don Jr.) Kleier of Manchester,  brother, Samuel Franklin  Booker of Pierre, S.D.; grandchildren, Machelle Werning (Bicycle Lady), Brent Booker, Sarah Neeley, Mark Booker II and Olivia Booker; great-grandchildren, Shaun, Remington, Sterling, Robinson, Blake, Khloe, Mollee, Carson and Lucas.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Evelyn Booker.

 

A memorial service was Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Community United Methodist Church, Manchester, with Rev. Duane Loos officiating.
