Donald Earl Kinder 70, formerly of Petersburg, died Friday, March 23, at his home in Greenfield.

 

He was born April 29, 1941 in Pike County, to Alsie Ray and Nora Ethel (Sutton) Kinder.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Lawrence and Gordon Kinder, sisters Vonda Ashby, Violet Kinder and Relda Harper.

 

He retired from Chrysler and North Patoka Volunteer Fire Dept. He was a member and deacon of Hephzibah Littles General Baptist and Morristown Christian churches, and member and past master of Morristown Masonic Lodge 193. He served in the U.S. Air Force.

 

Surviving are his wife, Alice Faye (Stephens) Kinder of Greenfield; daughter: Mechelle (Tim) Smith of Greenfield; son Mark (Jamie) Kinder of Winslow; four grandchildren, six great grandchildren; a sister, Lavon Pancake of Petersburg; brothers John (Tess) Kinder of Evansville, Don (Betty) Kinder of New Bedford, Mass., and Oran Kinder of Sturgis, Mich.

 

Services are at 10 a.m.  Monday at Hephzibah Littles General Baptist in Littles, with burial in Blackfoot Cemetery in Coe, Rev. Keith A. Jenkins officiating.

 

Visitation  continues from 8 a.m. Monday to the service hour at the church.  Lamb Basham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
