Rita A. Kunkel, 63, passed away Thursday Mar. 22, 2012 at the Gibson General Hospital in Princeton.

She was born Aug. 2, 1948 in Robinson, Ill. to Nick and Helen (Sprowl) Sears. 

She retired from Gibson General Hospital where she worked in medical records. She was a former schoolteacher in Allendale Ill. and was an avid reader. She had lived in Princeton since 1991 moving here from Mt. Carmel, Ill.

She is survived by her husband Dave Kunkel of Princeton; son D.J. Kunkel of Evansville; 2 sisters, Ruth Sears, Evansville and Sharon Garman, Albion, Ill.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday March 27, 2012 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
