Billy Joe Rogers passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Thursday, March 22, 2012, in Newport Beach, Calif.

 

Bill was born on Nov. 4, 1928, in Princeton, son of Floyd and Beatrice Rogers.

 

Bill was a caring and wonderful husband, dad, uncle, and grandfather, who was loved by all who ever met him. Billy was dedicated to his family, friends, and church.

 

In 1952, he married the love of his life, Georgia Lois Mitchell. 

Together they had two children, Laura and Bradley. In 1970, the family moved to Costa Mesa, Calif., where Bill worked as the Vice President of AMF Voit.

 

Bill enjoyed playing golf, spending time with his neighbor and church friends, and traveling with his family.

 

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Beatrice, and brother, Floyd Jr. 

 

He is survived by his loving wife, Georgia, of 59 years of marriage; daughter Laura Ziemer of Bakersfield, Calif.; son Bradley Rogers and his wife, Wendy, of San Diego, Calif.; and sister-in-law Wilma (Rex) Pierson. 

He leaves behind eight grandchildren: Greg, Anne, Jessica, Amanda, David, Curtis, Alex, and Jake. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life is scheduled for Sunday, April 1, 2012 at 2 p.m., at Mesa Verde United Methodist Church, 1701 West Baker St., Costa Mesa, CA 92626

 

Georgia and family wish to express love and appreciation to the many church friends, family and neighbors who loved, comforted, and cared for Bill these past nine months.

 

Bill will be missed by those who knew him. We love you forever.
