RAY W. SIMS, 81, of Francisco passed away Saturday March 10, 2012 at the Gibson General Hospital in Princeton.

 

He was born Oct. 8, 1930 in Winslow, IN to James B. and Letha A. (McCraw) Sims. 

He was a retired security officer for General Motors. He was also a firefighter and an emergency medical technician. He served in the U.S. Army following the Korean War. 

He had lived in Francisco since 1993 moving there from Arizona and Reno Nevada. He was a member of the Oasis Assembly of God in Princeton. He enjoyed his grandchildren and had served as a foster parent. 

Ray is survived by his wife, JoAnn of Francisco; daughter Marsha Dodd and husband John of Oakland City; 3 sons, Ronald Sims, Winslow; Donald Sims and wife Tammy of Suntan Valley AZ; Mark Sims and wife Cheryl of Winslow; 9 grandchildren, Bryan Grubb, Angela Rae Huey, Sarah Pollock, Jesse Ray, Jamie, Justin, and Jennie Sims, Ryan Herald and Casey Luttrell, 7 great grandchildren, Tyler, Jarrin, Jevin, Sway, Zane, Abby and JoAnn

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ron Sims and sister, Donna Sims. 

Funeral Services will be
1 p.m. Saturday March 17, 2012 at the Oasis Assembly of God in Princeton, with Rev. Mike Marsh officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Winslow.

 

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church. V.F.W. Post 1147 will conduct military services at the cemetery. Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City is handling the arrangements.
