James M. Crecelius 88, of Vincennes passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Bridge Pointe Health Campus in Vincennes.

 

He was born on August 17, 1923 in Princeton, IN to Henry and Maude (Miley) Crecelius.

 

He was a farmer in Gibson County in his earlier years and then went back to school and was a proud graduate of Vincennes University and Purdue University. He then worked in Agricultural Sales. He attended the Fairview Presbyterian Church. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Prince Lodge #231 F&AM, a Kentucky Colonel and a Georgia Lt. Colonel Aide De Camp Governors Staff. 

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Margaret (Mans) Crecelius; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Ann (
Lynn) Hecht of Bruceville, IN, Patricia (Mel) Fireovid of Cincinnati, OH, and Carol (James Jr.) Payne of Rome, GA; 7 grandchildren, Amy, John, Aaron, Sarah, Andrew, Katie and Isaac; and 6 great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, W. Randall, Jack and Robert A. Crecelius; and a sister, Doris Crecelius McDevitt

Jim was a loving husband, a devoted father and a proud grandfather. He loved life, his family, and his friends. He will be greatly missed by all. 

Funeral Services will be held at
2 PM CDT on Sunday, April 15, 2012 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton. Burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery near Princeton.

 

Visitation will be from 4 until 7 PM CDT on Saturday at Colvin Funeral Home. There will be a Masonic Service at 7 PM on Saturday evening.
