Dexter Ivy age 70, of Princeton passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at the Waters of Princeton.

 

He was born on May 1, 1941, in Gibson County, to Mont and Grace (Hart) Ivy who precede.

 

He was a Captain with the Princeton Fire Department, retiring after 35 years of service. He was a life long area resident of Princeton and was a member of the Hadi Shrine and the Princeton Masonic Lodge #231 F.&A.M. as well as The Scottish Rite and was an avid car enthusiast. 

 

He is survived by sons, Wayne (Jean) Ivy of Princeton and Chris (Sherry) Ivy also of Princeton. Daughters, Carol Sue ( Parry) Schlimmer of Boonville, Jamie (Allen) Strickland of Princeton, Amy ( Mitch) Ellis of Princeton, and Emily (Elliott) Dawson 15 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Sisters, Violet Thorne of Princeton and Gayle Ivy of Chicago.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents, & son, Steve Ivy, brothers, John Ivy, Jack Ivy and Wayne Ivy. He is also preceded by his sisters, Virginia Acres, Maxine Bailey & Monty Sensebaugh.

 

Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. on Tuesday May 1, 2012 at Doyle Funeral Home located at 520 S. Main St. Princeton, IN 47670 with Pastor Kevin Wilson officiating. Internment will take place in Maple Hill Cemetery in Princeton.

 

Visitation will be on Monday April 30, 2012 from 4-8 p.m. with a Masonic service at 7 p.m.
