Lilliebelle Kapperman 96 formerly of Oakland City, IN. entered rest on Saturday April 28, 2012

at Meadows Manor East in Terre Haute, IN.

 

She was born 20 February 1916 to Ada Mae McDowell and James Henry Williams of Gibson County, IN. She is the granddaughter of George and Laura Ellen Hutchinson McDowell and AmbroseJesse and Matilda Mason Williams.

 

She grew up on a small farm along what is now the Texas Eastern Road , Oakland City.

 

Her siblings having all preceded her in death are: Huey Williams, Elzenia Bottoms, Elvenia

McDaniel and Otho Williams.

 

On June 19, 1937 she married Carl Raymond Kapperman of Chandler, IN who preceded her in death on July 17, 1980.

 

She attended Francisco High School, Lockyear Business School, worked for White Swan Laundry in Evansville and Sears & Roebuck in Evansville, eventually retiring to the old family homestead in Oakland City where she was born. Lilliebelle was an avid gardener and quilter, whose many beautiful quilts are treasured heirlooms for her family.

 

Surviving son; Gary Ray (Nancy Regina Wood) Kapperman formerly of Terre Haute, now of Spring Hill, Florida; four grandchildren: Raymond Scott (Leiann Henderson)Kapperman, Terre Haute; Barrett Gibson (Sherry Davies) Kapperman, Bloomington, IN; Devlin Neil Kapperman of Brazil, IN; and

Regina Noel Kapperman (Mark Alan) May of Noblesville, IN; she also has five great-grandchildren: Sarah Lynn, Raymond Andrew, Adam Scott, Sophia Belle Kapperman and Hayden Lucas

 

May.Lilliebelle was a faithful and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed. May God grant her eternal rest.

 

Services will be 3:00 P.M. Tuesday May 1, 2012 at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel with

burial in Forsythe Cemetery. Rev. Charles Gipson will be officiating.

 

Visitation will be from 2:00 until services on Tuesday.
