Melba R. Bass, 92, passed away Sunday, May 27, 2012, at her home in Princeton.  

 

She was born Aug. 24, 1919, in Gibson County, to Arthur and Lillie M. (Humphreys) Lewis. 

 

She was a housewife and a mother. She lived in Princeton most of her life.

 

She is survived by two grandchildren, Stacy Robb and husband Wayne, Princeton,  Kevin Bass and wife Sandy, Houston Texas, four great grandchildren, Nicholas Robb, Justin Robb, Chelsie Austin and Jasmine Robb, two great great-grandchildren, Lexis Marie Robb and Bentley Wayne Robb, two sisters, Helen M. Perlow, California, and Ethel Mae Aders, Princeton, several nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 57 years, Harold S. Bass, who passed away June 6, 1998; son, Harold Richard Bass, who passed Oct 9, 2011; several brothers and sisters including Alma J. White and Janet A. Doane.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 31, 2012 at the Resurrection Chapel of Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Evansville, with Rev. B.J. Riley officiating. Entombment will follow services. 

 

Visitation is from 5 until 7 p.m. Wednesday at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton
