Jacob “Jake” Cesar, 84, of Oakland City passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at his home.

He was born on June 20, 1927, in Glen Carbon, Ill. to Jacob & Maria (West) Cesar, both deceased.

He was a retired coal miner working at Kings in Princeton and Amax in Kingsburg, Ill.  He was a member of the First Pentecostal Church.

He is survived by his son Gary Cesar and daughter Mary Ann Miley both of Oakland City; one sister Ruby Mortimer of Calif.; two grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary L. Cesar in 1985 and one sister Emma Barton.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, May 16, at 2 p.m. at Martin Cemetery in Pike County.

Visitation will be at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. with family and friends going to the cemetery in procession.
