Jo Ellen Cook, 67

Jo Ellen Cook, 67, of Windsor, (rural Parker City, IN) passed away peacefully at her residence, early Friday morning, May 18, 2012, with her loving family by her side.

She was born September 16, 1944 in Princeton, IN. She was a 1962 graduate of Farmland High School.

Jo Ellen retired in 1994 after 16 years with Indiana Steel and Wire of Muncie, IN. A lover of life and all the great things it had to offer, she was most recently recognized for her enthusiasm and passion for her classic car, a 1955 Buick Special, and the “Lost in the 50’s” lifestyle. She was a member of the Crown City Cruisers and the Kroozin’ Car Club, both of
Dunkirk, IN, of which she was a very active member.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 48 years, Leonard “Sonny” Cook; a son, Duane Dean Cook of Muncie, IN; a daughter, Dena Marie Wallace of Parker City, IN; a sister, Susan Williamson (husband, John), of Schererville, IN; and a grandson, Torry David Wallace of Muncie, IN.

She was preceded in death by her father, Hascall Winingear; and two mothers, Bessie E. (Hunt) Winingear and Jo Ann (Hunt) Weist and a brother, Mickey Weist.

Classic car lovers, family and friends, bring your classic cars and come rev-up your engines for a special time of celebration in Jo Ellen’s memory.

Services to celebrate Jo Ellen’s life will be 2:00 Friday, May 26, 2012 at Thornburg Memorial Chapel of Parker City, IN.

Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 4-8 PM Thursday, May 25th at the funeral home.
