Gerald R. Doane, 70, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2012 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville.

 

He was born September 10, 1941 in Allendale, Illinois.

 

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was last involved in farming, was also a licensed jeweler and ran the former Starlight Drive-In Theater south of Princeton for 7 years. He was a member of Broadway Christian Church in Princeton

He is survived by a son, Chris (Ann) Doane of Clear Lake, Iowa; a daughter, Shawanna (Greg) Otolski of Holland, Michigan; four grandchildren, Sydney, Gage, Matthew and William; a brother, Harold “Pill” Doane of Evansville; a sister, Cathy Stevens of Lawrenceville, Illinois; two nephews, Kenny and Tommy and also two nieces, Cathy and Kim. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and
Florence (Conrad) Doane; a sister, Wilma Doane and his wife, Janet (Lewis) Doane, August 28, 2010

Funeral services will be graveside at
1 p.m. Monday, May 7, 2012 at Archer Cemetery in Princeton, with Rev. Scott Burr officiating. Burial to follow.

 

There will be no visitation. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery for the services. Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton is handling the arrangements. V.F.W. Post 1147 will provide military rites at the cemetery.
