Carson “Eugene” Powers, 74, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.

 

He was born Oct. 3, 1937, in Posey County, the son of Melbourn Carson and Iva Dell (Hess) Powers.

 

Eugene graduated from Owensville High school in the class of 1956 and retired from Duke Energy.

 

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Sue (Newton) Lambert Powers; children, Ginger Haavisto and Darrell Powers both of Oregon; step-children, Kathy Cowling, Sharon Henson, David Lambert, Lisa Choate and Lori Harms; brother, Robert Powers; 3 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 15 step-grandchildren; 14 step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister-in-law Janita Powers.

 

Services will be held on Monday, July 2, at 10 a.m. at Holders Funeral Home in Owensville with Bob Douglas officiating. Burial will be in the Maumee Cemetery.

 

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
