John William "Bill" Rothrock 84, of Winslow passed away at his home on Monday, June 18, 2012 after a long illness.

 

He was born on Sept. 25, 1927 to Hubert and Mae (Bilderback) Rothrock.

 

He was a lifelong resident of Pike County and graduated from Winslow High School in 1946. He was a retired coal miner. He served in the US Army Air Force from 1946 to 1948. 

Bill organized an antique machinery show each fall during the Winslow Town Festival from 2007, and was an active collector and restorer of antique engines, tractors and cars. 

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Margaret Rothrock of Winslow; 4 sons, John Jr. of Danville, IN, Mark of Danville, IN, Brent of Winslow and James of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; 3 grandchildren; brother, Tony Rothrock of Winslow; and sisters, Betty Evans of Evansville, Olive Clark of Tavares, FL, Laura Friedman of Oakland City and Nola Gartin of Petersburg. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers and 1 sister. 

Funeral Services will be held at
10 AM (CDT) on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at the Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, officiated by Rev. Keith Jenkins. Burial will follow at Williams Cemetery in Pike County.

 

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 PM (CDT) on Friday at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home. Petersburg VFW Post#3587 will provide military graveside services.
