O. Kathryn “ Nanny” Ellis, 88, of Princeton, passed away Sunday July 8, 2012 at Gibson General Hospital, surrounded by her family.  

 

She was born Feb. 24, 1924, to Charles H. and Mary F. (Montgomery) Miller.

 

She was a homemaker, member of VFW Post 1147 Ladies Auxiliary,  Mt. Carmel American Legion Post 432 Ladies Auxiliary, and she enjoyed embroidering.

 

She is survived by a  daughter, Dixie (Jeff) Gourley of Mt. Carmel, Ill.;  granddaughter, Jackie Gourley of Princeton; grandson, Brian Ellis of Greenville, Ill.; grandson Mike Gourley (Peggy) of Lawrenceville, Ill.; grandson, Greg Anthis (Frannie) of Entiat Wash.; granddaughter, Leanne Lewis (Brian) of Princeton; several great and great-great grandchildren; sisters Ruth Morrison of Princeton; Alice Dusenberry of Muskegon, Mich.; and Shirley Todd, Houston Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Leonard “Bud” Ellis, daughter Judy Russell, two grandchildren, Kimberly and Teresa, one brother and three sisters.

 

Funeral services will be  at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with Rev. Larry Meadows officiating.  Burial will be at a later date in Oak Hill Cemetery in Patoka. 

 

Visitation will be from 12 until 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Colvin Funeral Home.
