Jonathan Edward Fuhrman, passed away August 27, 2012 in Mahanoy City, PA.

 

He was born December 12, 1981 in Tell City, IN.

 

Jon went to PCHS until 11th grade, then after receiving his GED joined the Indiana Army National Guard. After 9/11 he went into the Army full time. He was most proud of becoming the honor graduate and top marksman of his graduating class at Ft. Benning, GA. He became a 101st Airborne Air Assault infantryman stationed at Ft. Campbell, KY, then following his grandfather’s footsteps as a 101st Airborne paratrooper. He served during the Operation Iraqi Freedom campaign in the city of Mosul, where he was a sawgunner

Jon loved being outdoors camping, hiking, swimming, riding motorcycles and being with friends. He loved being in the mountains of Pennsylvania where he worked as a welder. 

Jon is survived by his parents, Randy and Debi Fuhrman of Princeton, IN; sisters, Mary and J. Hartweck of Tell City, IN and Kendra Fuhrman of Princeton, IN; grandparents, Jerry and Jenny Schenk of Wartburg, TN; nieces, Morgan and Marra; nephews, Jaren and Kylar; uncles, Steven and Marilyn Fuhrman of Corydon, IN, Jerry and Paula Fuhrman of Bland, VA, Richard and Karen Figgins of Princeton, IN and Timothy Schenk of Riverside, CA; aunt, Suellen and David Dehnke of Mooresville, IN; cousins, Jodi, Jarrod, Michelle, Stephanie, Mark, Shawn, David, Bobby, Debra, Trish, Amy, Chandra and Charlie; girlfriend, Tamara Leigh Haspe of Mahanoy City, PA. 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harold and Lorraine Fuhrman and Pat Figgins

A Celebration of Life will be held at
2 p.m. Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with a gathering from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday.
